- Can borrow books and journals using a student ID card, Smart Card, staff ID card or Chulalinet card.
- Can use the interlibrary loan service by presenting a card to indicate the status as a user from the Faculty of Dentistry Chulalongkorn University.
- Can access information resource retrieval services through computers.
- Can use the self-learning room service by contacting the staff.

- Please dress appropriately and respect the premises.
- Place bags, book bags, and other belongings on the designated shelves before entering the library.
- Do not make loud noises or disturb others
- Turn off all communication devices before entering the library (vibrate mode is allowed).
- Do not bring food, snacks, or beverages into the library.
- Do not hold meetings or seminars in the library without permission.
- Do not bring laboratory work into the library.
- No smoking is allowed in the library.
- Do not damage books or any information resources in the library.
- Do not reserve tables or study seats under any circumstances.
- Computers in the library are for academic purposes only, such as information retrieval for learning, teaching, and research.

Penalties for Library Rule Violations.
Step 1: Verbal warning.
Step 2: Temporary suspension of library access rights.
Step 3: Permanent termination of library access rights and reporting the name to the Library Management Committee Chair for disciplinary action.

- Photograph, dressed in formal attire, 1 inch (1 photo)
- Copy of employment contract or certification letter from the department head or unit head.

Note: Membership cards must be renewed every semester. Students must present their registration documents for that semester.

Return Notice - Overdue.
- Books / Journals / Publications: 3 Baht / day.
- Audiovisual Materials: 5 Baht / day.
- Reserved Books: 30 Baht / day.

(If returned after 1:00 PM, an additional 10 Baht per hour)

Reservation of Materials and Publications

Reservation of Materials and Publications.

- Reservation hours: 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM, Monday to Friday only.
- Reservation recording: Enter reservations in the reservation logbook by writing the name of the material or publication you want to reserve.
- No Show Policy: If the reserving user does not borrow the item as scheduled, the library will hold the item for 3 days from the date it is returned.
- Item Availability: After the 3-day period, the library will make the item available on the shelf for other users.
- No phone reservations accepted.

Document Loan / Interlibrary Loan

- Users must complete the interlibrary loan request form by filling out all required details as comprehensively as possible.
- The librarian interviews the user to understand the specific type and format of the information resources required and reviews the details on the request form.
- The librarian and the user conduct an initial check in the database to confirm the material is not available within the Chulalongkorn University network (Chulalinet) and identify available locations. If the material is available at multiple locations, select one lending library.
- Write the name of the lending library in the "Lending Library" field on the request form.
- The librarian signs and dates the request form, checks the bibliographic details against the database and guides before sending the request to the lending library.
- Register and file the request form in the interlibrary loan register for easy tracking.
- Contact the lending library via various methods such as email, phone, or postal mail.
- Verify the correctness of the documents, register the receipt, and attach details of service fees and costs to inform the user.
- The user receives the requested documents and pays the associated fees.
- Process the payment and send it to the lending library via postal mail, keeping financial records for approximately 2 months for any potential claims.

- The librarian receives and processes the interlibrary loan request form.
- The librarian checks if the requested item is available in the library, if not, promptly informs the borrowing library for further action.
- If the item is available, prepare it for loan or reproduction per the borrowing library has requirements and calculate processing costs.
- Register the loan details in the interlibrary loan register.
- Verify the correctness of the item against the loan request to ensure it matches the borrowing library has needs, attach the service fee invoice, and mail the item.
- Collect service fees from the borrowing library, record them in the interlibrary loan register, and forward the payments to the responsible library staff.

Fines for Overdue / Lost / Damaged Publications

Damaged Publications: A damaged publication refers to any borrowed publication that exhibits noticeable changes from its original condition, such as getting wet, stained, dirty, or torn. Users must immediately report any damage to the library for case-by-case evaluation.

Note: In cases where the borrower fails to return the publication, pay fines, or cover damages, the library will consider the following steps:
- Publicly announce the borrower has misconduct.
- Revoke the borrower has library privileges.

Information Resource Search Service Regulations

The library provides access to information resources through electronic journal databases (E-Journals), full-text document databases (Full Text Databases), electronic book databases (E-Books), and other databases. Services are available to faculty, researchers, scholars, Chulalongkorn University staff, and external service users, with the following service fees:

- Per topic: 10 baht.
- Document copying fee: 1 baht per page.
- Document sending fee:
1. By mail.
- By regular mail (based on regular mail rates).
- By express mail (based on express mail rates).
2. By electronic mail (e-mail) with scanned documents from originals: 5 baht per page.

Printing Search Results Fees (A4 size standard paper):
- Laser printer .
for text (black) only: 1 baht per page.
for text with images: 5 baht per page.
- Laser printer (color): 20 baht per page.

Library Access Fees.

The library charges access fees only for external individuals, which means the general public, except for:
  - Students with a valid ID card must show ID
  - Retired government officials / faculty members within the faculty must show ID
  - Special lecturers / dentists / staff working within the faculty outside official hours (the department must notify and must show ID
  - University lecturers, government officials, and staff from other departments must show ID

Regulations for Using Virtual Laboratories

The Simodont machines were introduced in the self-learning area starting from the fiscal year 2015

The academic department has installed virtual practice mannequins (Simodont) on the 3rd floor in the Self-Learning Area to enable students to practice dental procedures. There are 8 Simodont units available for student use. If you wish to use this service, please contact the staff at the Self-Learning Area or the borrowing desk to register your reservation and request access to the service.

Computer Services for Academic Information Retrieval / Internet

For Students, Faculty, and Staff of the Faculty of Dentistry, Chulalongkorn University. Currently, the library offers the following computers for research use:
- 3rd Floor (Borrowing Desk Side): 8 PC computers and 8 iMac computers.
- 4th Floor (Book Side): 6 PC computers.
- 4th Floor (Journal Side): 6 PC computers.

Note: Users must contact the service counter to request access to these computers.
